The official opening will be celebrated in September 2026, with two special weekends dedicated to the international sauna infusion culture. During these unique weekends, you will be among the first to discover and experience this new sauna in a distinctive setting.

Our new panoramic sauna with sauna rituals will be called Eir.
The name is inspired by Norse mythology. Eir is the goddess of healing and is known as a highly skilled healer with a subtle, restorative power. This is exactly the feeling we want to bring to life in this sauna. In Eir, the fire burns and warm air glides along your body. An intense experience of warmth that invites deep relaxation. Surrounded by the scent of wood and herbs, and nourished by the thermal water from our centuries-old spring, Eir awakens all the senses. Here, the hustle and bustle of everyday life gives way to an oasis of tranquillity.

The story behind the new infusion sauna

The addition of the newest sauna is not a traditional expansion, but rather a deepening of what has characterized Thermae 2000 for decades: craftsmanship, tranquility, and the power of rituals. At the center is the infusion ritual culture, an age-old tradition that has seen a strong revival in recent years within the European wellness world.

During a sauna infusion, thermal water enriched with essential oils and herbs is poured over hot stones, after which heat, fragrance, and air circulation are deliberately guided by the sauna master. The result is more than just heat: an intensely sensory experience that stimulates circulation, helps the body detoxify, and induces deep relaxation. At the same time, it creates a ritual moment in which attention, breathing, and experience come together.

The new sauna at Thermae 2000 translates this tradition into a contemporary setting, where three elements take center stage: heat, essence, and space. Heat as a physical effect, scent as a sensory deepening, and the environment as a calming framework. High above the rolling hills of South Limburg, surrounded by nature and panoramic views, this experience gains an extra dimension.
