Origins of Thermae 2000
In 1989, Thermae 2000 was founded on the Cauberg in Valkenburg aan de Geul by Marcel Jaspars and Mijndert Verschuur. They discovered a unique thermal spring at a depth of 381 meters from an underground lake that extends into the ancient volcanic regions of Germany. This pure water formed the basis for Thermae 2000's mission to create a place where guests could enjoy the healing powers of thermal water, amidst the peace and beauty of nature.
